The TMTI 300 assists maintenance staff in reducing downtime by evaluating the condition of running machinery.
By producing visible images from invisible radiation, the tool allows the user to view a wide range of temperatures for safe inspection of all kinds of mechanical and electrical machines.
Two spot temperatures are displayed on the screen and these can be independently moved to select an area of interest.
A class-two laser pointer is incorporated in the TMTI 300, so the operator always knows what they are looking at.
Required images can be easily saved to the pocket PC, and these can be transferred to a PC by using MS ActiveSync software.
Images transferred to the PC can be further processed using the software provided.
"SKF has more than thirty years experience in developing thermographic tools and has long recognised their value as part of a predictive maintenance plan," explained Phil Burge of SKF.
"Hot or cold spots on running machinery often indicate a problem.
The TMTI 300 allows these spots to be easily visualised as a thermal image, making them easier to recognise.
Much more advanced than a simple thermal camera, this tool provides early recognition of potential problems, which is essential to predictive maintenance," he concluded.
The TMTI 300 achieves a clear image display of 96 x 96 pixels on a Pocket PC (128 x 128 pixels on a PC) by using a bank of 16 x 16 array based detectors and interpolating techniques.
It operates on four AA batteries or an AC power supply.
It comes in a sturdy, ready to use, carrying case with software, handle, and a cable that is suitable for most Pocket PCs.
