Compact linear actuators resist
corrosion
Linear actuators combine enhanced corrosion resistance with lifetime lubrication and, as standard, the units offer IP53 ingress protection, and versions with IP65 protection can also be supplied.
Featuring a compact design with the drive motor mounted alongside the actuator mechanism, the new Jaeger IMD3 linear actuators from SKF combine enhanced corrosion resistance with lifetime lubrication As standard, the units offer IP53 ingress protection, and versions with IP65 protection can also be supplied

Gearbox design smashes engineering barriers
Considered a breakthrough in the world of industrial transmissions, a gearbox offers a service life of greater than 50,000 hours - 30,000 more than the industry average.
Packaging improvement prevents bearing damage
A versatile, robust and environmentally friendly packaging solution for the transportation of large-size bearings affords easier and safer handling and superior protection.
The new actuators are, therefore, an ideal choice for applications such as ice-cream dispensers, commercial lawn mowers and salt-spray systems, as well as for use in healthcare equipment, where maintenance requirements must be minimised, even though the actuators are likely to be exposed to liquids and potential sources of corrosion.
Available in versions for operation from 12V, 24V and 36V DC supplies, IMD3 actuators have aluminium outer and extension inner tubes, with the drive motor and gears protected by a robust zinc-alloy housing.
Precision-manufactured sintered gears ensure low operating noise and high efficiency.
The IMD3 compact actuator range includes four models.
The IMD3 5 develops an operating force of 120N, while the corresponding figures for the other models are 240N for the IMD3 10, 500N for the IMD3 20 and 750N for the IMD3 30.
In every case, the forces are the same whether the actuators are pushing or pulling.
Maximum operating speeds under full load conditions range from 45mm/s for the IMD3 5 to 8mm/s for the IMD3 30.
All models are offered with a choice of six stroke lengths from 50mm to 300mm, and all except the IMD3 20 and IMD3 30 can be factory fitted with an integral potentiometer to provide positional feedback.
IMD3 actuators are compatible with Jaeger CB200 control boxes for single actuators and two actuators connected in parallel, CB300 control boxes which can provide independent control for two actuators, and CB800 control boxes which can provide independent control for four actuators.
The control boxes are complemented by a range of hand-held operating units. Request a free brochure from SKF UK ...
