Client energy and environment analysis
application

A web-based Client Energy and Environment Analysis application (CEEA) from SKF can significantly reduce the energy consumption and save costs for process plants and manufacturing operations.

SKF has developed a web-based Client Energy and Environment Analysis application (CEEA) that can significantly reduce the energy consumption and save costs for process plants and manufacturing industries Even small percentage energy savings per 'machine' can deliver huge cost savings on common items like motors, pumps, fans, compressors and other equipment, when considering the effect across the whole plant

In a typical oil refinery there would be more than 1,000 pumps, and savings per pump could be up to 20%.

The CEEA establishes an "opportunity map" of the potential energy savings and identifies those likely to give greatest savings as a function of; * percentage saved, * payback period * cost These factors are then compared to the customer's business objectives and key performance indicators to prioritize the activities that deliver the results.

Furthermore, SKF provides the necessary technology and services to accomplish the energy saving activities, which enables a smooth and cost effective approach to the whole operation.

Typical solutions include; vibration analysis, belt/shaft alignment, balancing, machinery performance etc.

In many cases the industries that are most energy intensive are already serviced by SKF with its various Maintenance Service contracts that focus on machinery uptime and maintenance cost savings.

This means that SKF's familiarity with the plant's operation and its machinery and equipment is very high and helps with speed and completeness of the analysis.

In addition a confidential SKF database of completed CEEA projects serves as a benchmark across industrial segments or locations of a large corporation, to ensure that the projected savings are realistic and are part of a continual improvement process.

Because the energy efficiency of plant equipment can deteriorate over time the CEEA is an ideal tool for periodic reviews.

It is a structured and repeatable analysis that gives a very fast review of the current energy efficiency 'map' highlighting variations from previously measured equipment and the degree of new opportunity to increase efficiency and save costs.

The CEEA is an extension to SKF's service that helps customers to assess machine reliability and identify areas of improvement.

SKF has a database of almost 1000 industrial surveys which serve as benchmark data for determining key machinery and the degree of opportunity a customer could expect.

A typical CEEA would deliver to customers easy to understand data highlighting where the opportunities lie, and ranking them in order of magnitude.

Being web-based, the CEEA data is available to SKF consultants and the customer allowing discussions to be set up with a minimum of effort and time. Request a free brochure from SKF UK ...
