Immersion pumps save lubrication costs

High pressure immersion pumps, to be used with oil, lubrication and coolant systems, are a seal-less, have closed impeller and modular construction to save enegy costs.

The Spandau high pressure immersion pumps for use with oil, lubrication and coolant systems are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, said SKF UK SKF has developed the PX range to save energy and lower maintenance costs, The pump design is seal-less, features a closed impeller and has modular construction

Each pump can function efficiently and is easily configured.

PX high pressure immersion pumps deliver flow rates up to 500 litre/min, at 25 bar, with a maximum delivery head of 250m and an operating temperature range of -10 to +90 deg C.

Each pump is constructed from either a tough cast iron or stainless steel body.

They use industry standard motors and a high-grade stainless steel motor and impeller shaft, separated by a robust coupling.

Instead of a conventional seal, the latest PX pumps can also be fitted with a gap bush immediately beneath the reservoir lid to allow any leakage from the pressure chamber or shaft to be drained directly back into the reservoir; this prevents external leaks and helps to extend service life still further.

The modular construction of each pump makes it easy to specify the correct operating pressure, delivery rate, immersion depth, motor output, materials of construction and accessories.

For example, the impeller body, including both shaft and casing, can easily be extended by the addition of extra sections to allow the unit to be used in tanks or reservoirs of varying depths.

The pumps are quick and simple to install, using industry standard DIN EN 12157 fittings.

They are also easy to service, with all maintenance parts being accessible from outside the tank or reservoir.

The range includes the following.

* The compact PXK - intended for installation in machinery where space is limited.

* The PXA - incorporates a pre-programmable frequency converter within the motor unit.

The PXA is particularly useful in applications with varying demand or where energy consumption needs to be tightly controlled.

The output of the motor and thus of the pump unit can be automatically regulated to meet changing process conditions.

The latest PX range of high pressure immersion pumps form part of SKF's extensive range of lubrication systems for industrial and off-highway use.

The pumps are backed by the company's global network of manufacturing and customer support centres. Request a free brochure from SKF UK ...
