Portable evaporative coolers improve
comfort
Portable evaporative coolers has provided a spectacles manufacturer with a cost effective cooling system, which has dramatically improved the thermal comfort and air quality for staff.
Already familiar with the benefits of evaporative cooling, Rodenstock, one of the world's largest suppliers of spectacle frames and lenses, has installed Breezair coolers into three of its production halls at its state-of-the-art optical laboratory in Northfleet, Kent Specified and installed by industrial cooling specialist, Clean Air Group, Breezair has provided Rodenstock with a cost effective cooling system, which has dramatically improved the overall thermal comfort and air quality for staff

Seeley International reported that six Breezair evaporative coolers have reduced uncomfortable air temperatures in a construction equipment builder's gearbox plant by 10 deg C.
Eco-friendly AC system for production line cooling
Remploy Household and Toiletries in Lancashire, UK, chose an environmentally-friendly Breezair evaporative air cooling system from Seeley International (Europe) for its factory.
Rodenstock's 52,000ft2 production facility is divided into six production departments, with each section undertaking precision machine work in the manufacture of spectacle frames and lenses.
Three of the departments, namely lens manufacturing, lens cutting and fitting and quality assurance and tinting are located in closed environments where, prior to Breezair being installed, the only ventilation was provided by ceiling fans.
In summer, temperatures in these departments became unbearably hot which had a detrimental affect on staff and morale.

Jones Stroud Insulations installed five Breezair evaporative coolers from Seeley International (Europe) to reduce hot summer temperatures in the vicinity of its high process ovens.
Evaporative system cools hatchery air
An evaporative air cooling system provided a cost effective and ecologically friendly way of providing the staff and poultry with a cooler environment during summer months.
Evaporative cooling system controller
An industry grade wall controller has been introduced by Seeley for its evaporative cooling systems.
Looking for a solution, Andy Cobbold, Production Manager at Rodenstock decided to hire some Breezair portable evaporative coolers to assess their cooling qualities.
When the mobile coolers proved to be very effective, the decision was taken to fit a more permanent solution.
Clean Air Group has now installed a total of six Breezair TBA coolers, with two coolers being installed in each production department.
As a result, excessive summer temperatures have been substantially reduced, providing the 100 employees in the three areas with a more comfortable working environment.
Clean Air calculated that six Breezair coolers installed onto the roof of the building would deliver sufficient cooled air to alleviate the high temperatures.
Now, air is distributed from the Breezair coolers via ductwork to air diffusers and then into the three areas to provide temperature relief.
By introducing a steady flow of fresh, cooled air into the area, the Breezair coolers are forcing the hot air right out of the building.
"Breezair evaporative cooling is a first rate system for a number of reasons.
It provides cooled fresh air as well as natural ventilation and in addition to being cost effective, quick and easy to install, and low maintenance it is also environmentally friendly," said Andy Cobbold.
"We use the wall control to turn on the Breezair coolers an hour before production begins at 6.00 a m and turn them off when the factory closes at 2.00 a m." The coolers are controlled by Breezair's wall-mounted climate control panel, which provides four different control modes.
In Auto mode the system monitors the temperature and personal comfort setting, automatically increasing or decreasing the fan speed to maintain comfort.
The fan speed can be varied manually in Manual mode and the system can be programmed in Timer mode to be switched on and off within a 24h period.
Fan mode gives the simple choice of operating the system as a ventilator.
"Rodenstock's management wanted to provide its employees with a better working environment," concluded Marie Wren, managing director of Clean Air Group.
"Breezair provides effective industrial cooling providing and is a simple, safe and low cost solution for the cooling of people and processes." The Breezair system is housed in a simple, clean, ultra-modern designed plastic casing specially developed to withstand all weather conditions.
The Breezair's 'state-of-the-art' components include an innovative water distribution system, which delivers continuous, balanced water coverage to all the cooling pads.
The world-patented system ensures maximum cooling efficiency and minimal maintenance problems.
An innovatively designed, aerodynamic fan provides a constant, even flow of air over the pads to provide a welcome cool breeze with minimal noise and low energy consumption.
Other pioneering components include a highly efficient water pump that guarantees constant and reliable cooling when most needed, and a long lasting variable speed motor that gives maximum comfort level control.
