Spoxel has announced the release of a new Enterprise version of its Web 2.0 online Intelligent Document Management System for Business New features include the ability to move documents, photos, music and programs between their PC and an online server, using the standard WebDAV facilities of Windows Explorer

Users can drag and drop or cut and paste both folders and files into their Enterprise Server without using a browser.

Spoxel's online servers mimic the Windows file system but add enhancements which enable shared access, file versioning, cross-document text search, online file previews and other Web 2.0 collaboration features.

The new Enterprise Server, comes with a 2-Gigabyte capacity and competitive pricing.

Spoxel users build up a private and secure 'network' of online servers, based on the sharing permissions granted by each server's administrator.

This creates a natural way to deposit and retrieve documents they share online among peers, using a completely seamless interface that requires no new desktop software.

Perfect for small to large businesses for file sharing and for storing documents with a remote backup in case a disaster or file corruption happens to user's local PC or Server.

"This is a considerable technical achievement," said Matt White, Spoxel's Chief Technology Officer.

"By adding a WebDAV interface to our Subversion backend we have provided a standards-compliant interface to Spoxel, which can be easily exploited by Windows users via Windows Web Folders (found in Explorer's Network Places) and Mac users".

"Additionally, developers can access their Subversion repository directly".

"Files dragged to an Enterprise Server automatically obtain all the facilities of our online repository - including version tracking and file preview - and become immediately available for sharing according to the inherited permissions established for each containing folder tree".
