Synthetic grease reduces bearing down-time
A combination of the latest technology thickeners, high quality additives and base stock oil has produced a synthtic grease to give better bearing service life and resistance to 'heat soak'.
The metalworking oil was developed because conventional lubricity and EP additives in metalworking oils can cause staining to finished yellow metal work piece surfaces.
The product is designed for metalworking companies machining a wide variety of metals on the same machine tool.
This product will be of particularly benefit to metalworking applications in the nuclear industry, and machining parts for medical instruments, where sulphur and aromatics are prohibited.

Advanced lubricants help in cold conditions
Shell Lubricants has highlighted the dramatic changes in engines over the last two decades, and the increased pressure this has placed on the choice of oil.
The key benefits of this oil is that it is free of labelling (no symbol R- or S- phrases) and has a high equality of hydrocarbon molecules, which reduces mist levels in the surrounding operating environment and gives a high flash point.
Also, the base oil used to develop this specialist oil is free of aromatics, eliminating the production of polcyclic aromatics when the application and oil is in use.
Shell Macron 2617 M-13 has been developed for high and middle demanding cutting operations.
The oil will be of particular benefit to applications processing yellow metals and production lines where sulphur causes problems.
Comments Emmanuel Trivin, Marketing Manager at Shell Metalworking Europe: "This product was developed to ensure the production of stainless finished products.
This was achieved by replacing staining additives such as sulphur and chlorine with less aggressive additives such as synthetic esters and special phosphorus compounds.
This product will also offer improved health, safety and environmental benefits due to the additives and aromatic free base oil used.
