SSAB has developed Docol 1000 LCE (low carbon equivalent), a high strength steel with a minimum tensile strength of 1000 MPa.
Docol 1000 LCE ensures spot welds do not fracture during a collision, unless an extremely high force is exerted.
It achieves a 100 per cent full plug fracture rate in tests.
Docol 1000 LCE is helpful when welding with a fast cooling speed, for example with laser welding.
It simplifies the welding of high strength steel grades.
SSAB can supply coils, slit strips and sheet from its test stocks at short notice to help customers that want to test this steel in their own production systems.
