Rotary joint eliminates pneumatics tube
twisting
To overcome the problems normally experienced with tube twisting, when rotary movements on chip mounters or industrial robots are in progress, a new joint design has been developed.
Rotary joint eliminates tube twisting Responding to customer demand, SMC has introduced a new product to overcome the problems normally experienced with tube twisting, when rotary movements on chip mounters or industrial robots are in progress The new metal seal, rotary joint, designated series MQR, has a low rotating torque of 1/10 to 1/100 compared to conventional rubber seal types, and is available in a wide range of rotation performance, from slow and smooth to high speed rotation (3,000 rotations/min)

Free mount pneumatic cylinder series launched
SMC Pneumatics has announced the launch of a new range of mini-free mount cylinder, series CUJ. The new CUJ series is ideal for those seeking space saving actuators.
There is very little valve abrasion within the unit, and this ensures a long life - estimated to be in the region of one hundred million to one billion rotations.
In addition, the use of a metal seal prevents the seal from sticking to the rotating surface, even after a long period of non-operation.
And the rotating torque is resistant to temperature change, from -10 to 80degC.
Other specifications include:- * minimum operating pressure of -100kPa.
* maximum operating pressure of 10 bar.
* weight: 0.016kg to 1.26kg (depending upon model selected).
* port size: M5 x 0.8.
