The forthcoming UK annual Southern Manufacturing Show offers a free seminar programme that provides an accessible focal point of enginering/manufacturing knowledge sharing.
Those visiting the stand can discuss their issues with NPL scientists, receive guidance on good measurement practice and get information on national measurement programmes and clubs.
They will also be directed to scientists at the lab who specialise in the areas where better measurement could solve a specific problem.
"Good measurement gives business a competitive edge" suggests NPL's Dr Emma Mulligan.
"It enables quicker turnaround times, less waste, and opportunities for innovation through precision production techniques.
The surgeries we run demonstrate our passion for giving organisations of any shape and size the commercial benefit of good measurement." NPL is a world leading centre in the development and application of highly accurate measurement techniques.
As the UK's national standards laboratory, it underpins the national measurement system, ensuring consistency and traceability of measurements throughout the UK.
It works with organisations ranging from government departments and international companies to national trade associations and small businesses.
