Seica will showcase several new products within its new Viva Integrated Platform (VIP) at Bias Milano, September 20th-23rd 2006, Booth # F11-G14, Pavilion 18.

Seica, Italy's leading electronics test solutions OEM will showcase several new products within its new Viva Integrated Platform (VIP) at Bias Milano, September 20th-23rd 2006, Booth # F11-G14, Pavilion 18 "We have implemented Seica's new VIP now into all of our products, to give our customers the real benefit of the power and flexibility they need to maximise their test investment through the entire life cycle of a product, while reducing overall cost of test", says Barbara Duvall, General Manager of Seica, "which is precisely what we believe new technology should do.'' The Strategy VL, in the various different configurations (which can be "customised" to satisfy specific user requirements), can perform low value analog measurements, power analog, low frequency and high frequency digital measurements

Moreover, the system offers the possibility to integrate a wide range of external instrumentation managed by one, easy-to-use and intuitive software environment.

This feature makes for a virtually unlimited range of applications, while maintaining the advantages of a test system based on a clearly defined internal architecture, and the switching matrix of the instruments completely integrated in the basic configuration.

The Strategy VL platform is suitable to test both new products and for the repair of boards and/or assemblies from the field, thanks to the powerful fault finder tools included in the software.

Its high level of configurability, in terms of instrumentation and performance, makes the Strategy VL system an ideal fit for all automotive users due to the outstanding performance, herewith:.

* One system is able to test ALL products mounted inside the vehicle.

* New boards have been developed by Seica specially dedicated for automotive testing (programmable loads, active loads to test those products).

* The system itself can integrate off-the-shelf instrumentations (scope, spectrum-analyser, signal generator).

Seica will also present Firefly, another automated product designed to meet the increasing need for automatic selective soldering, using the power of laser technology.

Firefly is also based on Seica's Viva Integrated Platform, offering all of the advantages of the simple, three step process for generating, verifying and running a soldering program.

It also has additional software tools that can be used to further optimise system flexibility and performance.

The integrated temperature control system provides continuous feedback during the soldering process, with real-time, on-screen display of the thermal profiles.

Firefly is equipped with a SMEMA board conveyor system for easy integration into any production line.

The AERIAL M4 has a vertical, very compact structure designed to make it easy to load and test even very large boards (up to 610 x 610 mm for solution L4) using mobile probes on both sides of the UUT together with a unique board clamping system which ensures that there is no board oscillation or movement during testing operations.

The Aerial is based on Seica's Viva Integrated Platform (VIP), fully integrating the core VIP hardware and software for complete compatibility with the other Seica test systems, including the Pilot VIP flying probe, Strategy In-circuit and VALID Functional testers.

The Aerial has been specifically designed to be a very cost-effective test solution, with a low entry price and minimum operating costs, focused on fast and comprehensive detection of manufacturing faults.

It is ideally suited for many applications including prototype verification, fast detection of manufacturing faults and fault diagnostics following functional maintenance tests.

It is an ergonomically designed system, contained in a practical, compact cabinet on wheels allowing the user to optimise manufacturing floor space.

The system can be configured with a maximum of 1536 direct non-multiplexed channels for in-circuit and functional testing.

The new vectorless test feature is used to diagnose open pins and On-Board Programming tools are available for integration.

The embedded repair station is a useful tool for immediate fault diagnostics and repair.
