Designs in standard and miniature ballscrew
Steinmeyer will show a selection of the latest designs in standard and miniature ballscrew at Machine Building 2007.
Open frame precision positioning stage
Steinmeyer open frame precision positioning stage model KDT 180-DC, offers a sleek low profile design with an overall height of only 32mm and square footprint of 199 x 199mm.
Working closely with its customers, Steinmeyer specialises in providing tailored ballscrew solutions for a wide range of applications.
Examples of these solutions are on show at MEDTEC.
Steinmeyer's miniature ballscrews, for example, can be used in a number of special environments like cleanrooms, vacuums and high vacuums and under radiation.
Depending on the application, the ballscrews can be made from different materials like standard carbon steel or different types of martensitic stainless steel.
Miniature ballscrews made by Steinmeyer are critical components of X-Y tables or manipulators, surgical robots, dosing and gauging equipment, respirators and scanners.
Steinmeyer's experience in manufacturing precision measurement instruments provides a sound knowledge base as these applications require extreme accuracy and reliablity.
Furthermore the ballscrews for these special applications have to emit a very low noise.
Also on display will be examples of the Steinmeyer FMD (Feinmess) linear stages, capable of operating in nano movement ranges.
Feinmess recently launched a new Nanometre Stage with long travels.
The systems can be equipped with different encoders having a resolution of up to 5nm.
Therewith, a repeatability of +/-10 nm can be achieved.
