Ballscrew maker opens extended factory
Manufacturer of ballscrew and nut assemblies, August Steinmeyer, has added 43,000ft2 to its plant to allay workflow problems, which had resulted from a double figure percentage growth.

Designs in standard and miniature ballscrew
Steinmeyer will show a selection of the latest designs in standard and miniature ballscrew at Machine Building 2007.
The shop floor area has been increased by more than 35,000ft2 and a new goods in and logistics area covers 8,000ft2.
Steinmeyer has extended the factory to eliminate increasing workflow problems, which arose from five years of double figure percentage growth.
International sales manager and co-owner of August Steinmeyer, Alexander Beck, said: "Demand for our products has continuously increased and we have simply outgrown the existing manufacturing facility.
With the new plant online we are now able to make the quality products our customers expect and are working towards reducing lead times once all of the new production capacity becomes available".
Steinmeyer has added 50 new jobs, which increase its overall number of employees in Germany to 400.
Beck said: "We make precision products and need a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
In addition to employing more people we have also introduced flexible working practises which allow us to keep production running on weekends and public holidays if necessary.".
