The new highly affordable advanced pick pack and ship warehouse system, snapfulfil, is delivered as a hosted service by using snapondemand.

This technology and infrastructure delivers high performance 'software as a service' to allow companies access to advanced systems without traditional corporate IT infrastructure costs The technology allows IT systems to be delivered over the internet to standard PCs with internet browsers, or other devices such as hand held terminals

snapondemand (www.snapondemand.com) is backed by Viatel, a global communications provider, and is built on a multi site resilient data network.

Advanced HP computing power delivers high availability, fully resilient software managing business critical data.

The snapondemand data centre operation includes information being stored and secured to the most exacting banking standards.

Delivering corporate performance, resilience and reliability for SME businesses, with no extra IT systems to pay for, install and maintain.

Utilising the latest in web based development tools such as Adobe Flex, Synergy Logistics are developing solutions such as snapfulfil (www.snapfulfil.com) to achieve high performance in an internet native environment.

The result is applications which run at on-site speeds over an internet connection.

Incorporating 'minimised' data transmission technologies, snapondemand delivers lightening fast desktop performance; for example an administration screen delivered in snapfulfil needs just 5% of the data transmission required by a traditional system to display.

The data centres which host the snapondemand services are state of the art, specialised locations, incorporating dedicated hardware.

Featuring an array of 16 dedicated servers to manage the service, security and web deployment of the product, the level of resilence and redundancy is comprehensive and would be "the envy of any corporate business," according to Mark Darley-Usmar, managing director of Synergy Logistics.

Full mirroring is provided as part of the overall solution with automatic status checking and data verification.

To further increase reliability and service continuity (in fact, to offer total redundancy) the whole system is mirrored at a separate location 15 miles away, providing automatic failover switching in case of natural disaster, or irrecoverable power failure at the main site.

An advanced range of firewalls, RAID arrays and Data Storage networks complete the resiliency package to offer complete peace of mind for snapondemand customers.

The hosting partner manages the ISP provision to the customers' desktop, providing an enclosed and secure environment to access any system running on the snapondemand platform.

"The beauty of this breakthrough solution is that it does not depend on the power of your own computer systems," comments Mark Darley-Usmar of snapondemand system architects Synergy Logistics.

"You can log on from any PC on your network - you don't need special software or hardware to access snapondemand solutions." "In fact, the back end power of snapondemand means you just get on with your business.".
