SpaceAge Control's Series 173, 174, and 175 position transducers deliver extended-life, high-reliability position measurement in a compact size.

Adding to its line of subminiature position transducers, SpaceAge Control now offers the Series 173, 174, and 175 position transducers The products deliver extended-life, high-reliability position measurement in a compact size

Initial applications have included industrial valve control, aircraft flight control surface monitoring, vehicle suspension tracking, and exhaust system thermal expansion verification.

The flexible and space-efficient products use a stainless steel cable wound around a stainless steel drum.

The bearing-mounted drum is mated to a precision potentiometric element that translates linear position information to an electrical signal.

This transducer technology gives high precision, easy installation, and fast calibration.

The products may be quickly mounted using screws provided, an optional rotatable mounting base, or custom installation plates.

Series 173 position transducers measure up to 3 inches (76.2mm) of travel with external dimensions of only 1.28 inches (32.51mm) diameter by 0.45 inches (11.43mm) wide.

Series 174 position transducers measure up to 4 inches (101.6mm) of travel with external dimensions of only 1.71 inches (43.31mm) diameter by 0.49 inches (12.45mm) wide.

Series 175 units measure up to 5 inches (127mm) of travel with external dimensions of only 1.99 inches (50.55mm) diameter by 0.49 inches (12.45mm) wide.

The products weigh approximately 1 oz.

and are available with right-hand or left-hand cable pull.

Custom configurations are available for unique applications.

The products feature 5K ohm co-molded conductive plastic potentiometric elements, a -65deg to +125degC operating temperature range, +/-0.5% linearity, 0.75W power rating, and operate for up to 50 million cycles.

Cable tension is user specified and factory set.
