Delivering extended range and rugged performance in a small package, SpaceAge Control is shipping the Series C of miniature position transducers for demanding industrial control and factory automation environments The products deliver high-reliability displacement measurement of up to 85 inches (2.16 m) in a 3.5-inch by 3.5-inch by 3.8-inch (89-mm by 89-mm by 97-mm) package

Typical applications include hydraulic cylinder feedback, injection molding machine control, heavy equipment component location, and forklift height monitoring.

Developed as a space-saving alternative to rod-and-cylinder products such as LVDTs and linear potentiometers, the flexible and easy-to-install products use a stainless steel cable wound around a spring-powered precision-machined drum.

The bearing-mounted drum is mated to a sensor assembly that translates linear position information to an electrical signal.

Key features and benefits include: * DctConnect technology eliminates backlash that results with clutched designs; * AccuTrak threaded drum ensures repeatability from cycle to cycle; * Optional UniExit cable guide allows 360deg x 180deg displacement cable flexibility.

The Series C position transducers are easily installed using supplied cam locks or optional tube clamps.

Installation generally takes less than 1 minute.

The products weigh less than 20 oz (567 g) and can withstand 100g/15g shock/vibration environments.

Analog or digital outputs are available.

Operating temperature is from -40deg to +85deg C (analog) and -10deg to +85deg C (digital).

Environmental protection is to IP 66/NEMA 4.

Custom configurations and signal conditioning are available.

Operating lifetime is in excess of 5,000,000 shaft revolutions.
