Tool-less enclosure system speeds installation
Enclosures feature a patent, tool-less system, push-lock cable entries that are claimed to offer the fastest installation of electrical circuits in the world.
Spelsberg's new Q4 and Q12 series enclosures feature patent push-lock cable entries that offer the fastest installation of electrical circuits in the world.
The tool-less system allows users to push a cable end through a moulded split in the enclosure sidewall, pushing out the knockout and securely gripping the outer casing without the need for tools or fasteners.
By reducing the number of operations required to secure the boxes, systems can be wired in the fraction of the time previously taken, saving both labour time and costs.
The new Spelsberg system allows users to manually push cable ends through a moulded split in the enclosure sidewall instead of having to feed them through retaining bands or cable glands.
When pushing them through the split, knockouts are automatically removed and bevelled edges provide a hold secure enough to suspended enclosures by the cables without the need for tightening awkward fasteners or use of tools.
Offering access for up to twelve 3x 1.5mm2 to 2.5mm2 strand NYM cables, the larger Q12 enclosures are ideal for large projects where circuit installation is against the clock.
Flexibility of mounting is also improved by using external lugs for easy fixing to cable routing tracks, trunking, square beams and poles using either cable ties or screws.
The models offer two standard lugs, which accommodate screws, and feature three knockouts in the base for installation on flat surfaces.
Installation of the Q12 enclosures is further improved by Spelsberg's innovative 'Klickt' click-top lid system, which consists of extra ridges set into the box edge and adjoining lid surfaces to provide faster and more secure location without the need for tools.
The smaller Q4 enclosures feature an innovative hinged lid that can be closed by hand and easily opened with a screw driver or simply by pushing down on its centre, reducing the time workers spend on ladders.
Designed to fit 3 pole terminals, and offering extended lugs with multiple attachment holes, the units are ideal for lighting systems where units are suspended on cabling.
Two side knockouts allow flush fitting to the edge of trunking and the rectangular enclosures offer capacity for four 3x 1.5mm2 to 2.5mm2 strand NYM cables.
To speed installation up even further, Spelsberg can cut bespoke entries, engrave corporate logos and fit terminals for delivery within 48hrs.
Spelsberg also has the largest range of ex-stock plastic enclosures available in the UK and their Telford headquarters is centrally located to provide immediate access to technical support and next day delivery on all standard items.
