Versatile bag filling and sealing machines work with a continuous chain of pre-formed bags, which are specially designed in a variety of styles to work with the equipment.

Supreme Plastics , an ITW Zip-Pak company, has launched Pronova 500, a new series of versatile bag filling and sealing machines.

The flexible packaging specialist distributes the machinery in the UK for Swedish manufacturer Pronova.

Pronova systems provide a complete solution for medium-volume producers seeking a low cost alternative to form-fill-seal equipment for packing products quickly and efficiently.

The Pronova 500 series enhances the manufacturer's original 'Joker' packaging concept, with a new, improved design that builds in even greater convenience.

The system works with a continuous chain of pre-formed bags, which are specially designed in a variety of styles to work with the equipment.

The chain is fitted with channels allowing the bags to run along two fixed guide rods, which, with no moving parts, support and open each bag at the point of filling.

Before the bags leave the machine they are heat-sealed to close.

The Pronova 500 machinery features new aluminium profiles for the machine stand, inside which cables and cords are neatly hidden.

This gives a cleaner, more attractive appearance as well as making cleaning considerably easier.

More plastics and less sheet metal materials have been used in the new design.

A see-through plastics hatch now covers the sealing bars, so the bags can be viewed clearly as they are cut off.

This enables the operator to follow the whole bag filling and sealing operation.

Each machine is designed to work with a range of accessories to create an integrated, semi- or fully automated packing line.

Available options include loaders and conveyors for heavy products, product compression, top gusseting and thermal transfer printing.

The full range of Pronova machines extends from compact models, primarily suited to manual loading of lightweight products, to more robust units for automated in-line operations with high output.
