German based Schott Systeme have recently completed a visit to Australia promoting their CAD/CAM direct sales service.

Attending the AIEE Manufacturing week in Melbourne, visitors were shown how the cost of purchasing and owning a CAD/CAM system can be dramatically reduced by dealing direct with the software developer.

By selling directly, Schott Systeme have managed to keep the purchase cost of their CAD/CAM software 'Pictures by PC' unchanged for over 10 years.

However more importantly, visitors were surprised to learn that normal chargable services such as e-learning and support are offered free.

With the software coming supplied 'ready-to-run' with free machine post processors for the customers machine tools, Schott Systeme's message was that companies can be up and running with a complete high end 2D/3D design and manufacturing solution for under 10,000 euros.
