German CAD/CAM developer Schott Systeme have taken an innovative step by enabling its CAD users to directly import, alter and even convert WMF/cliparts into 3D

The wealth of free WMF and 'clipart' graphics on the Internet provide many managers with an instant effect for their company powerpoint presentations However these cliparts still remain as 'flat' 2D graphics, not really of a quality desired for professional corporate marketing material

In a move to help companies liven up their presentations, German CAD/CAM developer Schott Systeme have taken an innovative step by enabling its CAD users to directly import, alter and even convert WMF/cliparts into 3D.

Included as standard within the 'Business Manager Graphics' version of their CAD software 'Pictures by PC', these cliparts are firstly imported and converted directly into vector geometry complete with all outline contours and shaded areas.

As CAD geometry, these cliparts can then be altered in shape and colour, as well as being converted into 3D for use within Schott Systeme's inbuilt rendering and animation suite.

Simple but extremely effective, this process is now enabling managers with little or no CAD knowledge to take any clipart from the internet, and with only a few clicks produce corporate presentations of a quality that would normally be purchased from graphic design agencies.
