With the majority of CAD/CAM systems typically having a yearly maintenance/support cost of somewhere between 15%-25% of the original software purchase price, this presents quite a considerable saving for Schott Systeme customers.
The company is also keen to point out that all machine post processors (3 axis and 3+2 axis) come free of charge, in addition to a range of elearning projects so customers can learn the software themselves.
For designers and anyone working in graphics, this means the 3D design version of 'Pictures by PC' remains at EURO2,800.
Already having seen the inclusion of a new rendering and animation suite this year, the solution includes graphic design and professional fontwork, 2D mechanical CAD, 3D mechanical and conceptual solid design, freeform surface design, moldtool creation and project structure management.
Including the 3D modeller above in addition to their 3D 'exchange' package, the full CAD/CAM system includes 2.5D prismatic milling and drilling, 3D freeform milling, 3+2axis pre positioned machining, engraving and CAM feature recognition.
WireEDM, turning and 5 axis simultaneous modules are purchased separately.
