After excellent first-half results and encouraging order intake during the summer, Star GB continues to be upbeat about sales of its sliding-headstock turn-milling centres.

After excellent first-half results and encouraging order intake during the summer, Star GB continues to be upbeat about sales of its sliding-headstock turn-milling centres, a sector of the machine tool industry which outperformed most others during the recession and continues to do so.

Contract manufacturers that have invested recently include North Somerset Reproductions in Bristol, which has brought its tally of Star lathes to three with the purchase of a further SR-20RII; Birmingham-based Wilco Manufacturing whose capacity of 100+ machines has been swelled by two more Star SR-20RII lathes; and KM Engineering, Norwich, whose recently-ordered SA-16RC is its second this year.
