Star Micronics CEO is on fact-finding world trip

President and CEO of Star Micronics, Toshihiro Suzuki, visited one of the company's most loyal UK customers, APT (Leicester) as part of a world-wide fact finding trip.

Toshihiro Suzuki, President and CEO of Japanese machine tool and precision components company Star Micronics , this week visited one of the company's most loyal UK customers, APT (Leicester) as part of a fact finding trip taking him to company operations throughout Europe, The Far East and USA.

25 years ago, precision turning specialist APT purchased the second Star CNC sliding headstock lathe to be imported into the country.

Since then, the company has operated a total of 17 of the advanced multi-axis machine tools, including two of Star's latest high-capacity units capable of handling components up to 32 mm diameter.

According to Bob Hunt, Managing Director of Star's UK subsidiary, Star Micronics GB: "Mr T Suzuki is being accompanied on his world-wide tour by the company's European and American Sales Manager, Mr K Suzuki".

"They not only want to visit Star operations, but also important customers, in order to understand how the company's CNC machine tools are being applied around the globe." "Star's sliding headstock machines are extremely versatile and play an important role in our ability to produce complex mill-turn type components in a single set-up," says APT's Managing Director, David Bailey.
