Current and potential users of Star sliding-headstock lathes in Scotland and the North of England should note that Star Micronics GB, has appointed area sales manager Greg Hall for the region.
Current and potential users of sliding-headstock lathes in Scotland and the North of England may be interested to learn that one of the principal suppliers in the UK, Star Micronics GB, has appointed an experienced area sales manager for the region.
Greg Hall brings with him a 20-year track record in the machine tool industry, expertise in production, product development, applications engineering and sales, and directly relevant experience of sliding-head as well as fixed-head mill-turning centres.
Of his appointment, Hall commented, "Today's machine tool representative has to be much more than a sales person".
"It is essential to keep abreast of rapidly evolving products, new technologies, materials and tooling, not to mention health and safety issues, in order to operate effectively in this fast-moving and challenging marketplace." He added: "With today's skills shortage in manufacturing, accelerating competition from overseas and the consequent need for higher added-value machining, manufacturers have never had a greater requirement for a high level of expertise and support from the person advising them when they are looking to invest in new plant and equipment.
