Star sliding-head mill-turn centers are to be distributed by one of the foremost suppliers in Ireland of world leading brands of machine tools and precision tooling, Machine Tool Technologies in Cork.
Machine Tool Technologies (MTT), Cork, has been appointed to sell and service Japanese-built Star sliding-head mill-turn centers in the Republic of Ireland The agreement, which was signed on 5th March 2007 by Richard O'Keeffe, managing director of MTT and Bob Hunt, managing director of Derbyshire-based Star Micronics GB, also allows MTT to market FMB bar magazines and JBS compensating guide bushes from Germany, for which Star GB is sole agent for Britain and Ireland

O'Keeffe, who has over 20 years' experience in the machine tool industry, is well versed in all aspects of the business, particularly service, application support and sales.
He also has an established track record in CNC sliding-headstock lathes and is looking forward to working with the Star team.
Since its inception in 2001, MTT has grown to be one of the foremost suppliers in Ireland of world leading brands of machine tools and precision tooling.
Commented O'Keeffe, "We have recently recruited two additional staff members and will be expanding from our Cork premises to a new purpose built HQ, showroom and applications facility in Limerick".
"This will enable us to increase our concentration on supplying turnkey systems to the Irish market and our intention is to offer the customer base the best possible service." He added: "Star GB is also an applications-led sales organisation, and both Bob Hunt and I believe there is a particular synergy between our two companies in terms of the engineered solutions we can offer existing and new Star users throughout the Republic.".
