SolidWorks has launched an online resource for suppliers to the medical device technology industry.

SolidWorks has launched an online initiative to promote the financial and creative advantages of using its SolidWorks 3D mechanical design software to the medical device technology industry MDT professionals are invited to learn more about benefits of designing in 3D at www.solidworks.co.uk/medic

Visitors can take a virtual tour of SolidWorks 3D, download case studies, sign up for a free demonstration and register to receive information including the 3D CAD Guide for Medical Product Designers, a guide to migrating from 2D to 3D and a regular MDT focused newsletter.

SolidWorks is already the 3D CAD system of choice for design engineers working in the industrial, consumer, educational and transportation markets.

This new online resource represents SolidWorks's first real push into the medical device technology market.

It marks the beginning of an exciting new initiative for the company, which will also be showcasing its SolidWorks 3D CAD software at MDT 2005 which takes place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 16 to 17 February 2005.

"Design and end-user appeal is becoming increasingly important in the medical device technology market and this is where SolidWorks 3D CAD software really comes into its own," says Anne Busson, Marketing Manager, SolidWorks.
