Electronic lathe frees up CNC production machines
The installation of an 'electronic' lathe has saved up to a third in machining times over previous methods for copper welding arms and released CNC machines for higher volume work.
VMC has higher rigidity, faster acceleration
Higher levels of rigidity, fast acceleration and rapid traverse rates for spindle positioning and simultaneous five-axis operation feature a modular nachining centre for wet or dry machining.
For instance, large box ways enable heavy cuts to be taken and the company's ancestry means customising to suit specific applications is easily accommodated.
Paul Maynard, managing director of StarragHeckert UK said: "RMT has sold well on the European mainland but this is the first time the range has become available in the UK.
Because of the capability of the company to customise a machining solution, this means the machines slot very well into StarragHeckert's portfolio and our capability to turnkey application engineer projects." Each machine in the RMT-Kompakt range is available with up to five-axes, can be specified as a stand-alone or with two types of pallet changers, has Heidenhain, Fanuc, Siemens and Selca control system interfaces and a range of table sizes from 900mm by 450mm to 2000mm by 900mm.
Spindle powers, tapers and speed capabilities range from 8kW, ISO 40 and 8,000 revs/min to 18kW, ISO 50 and 12,000 revs/min with a 30kW HSK 63A high speed option giving 18,000 revs/min.
As standard, each machine has a 30 tool disc magazine with option of a 40 tool chain system and swarf conveyor is included.
