As a result, the company has been engaged by key European suppliers to represent them in the UK together with the world-leading StarragHeckert equipment range that has an established market in the aerospace, power generation and automotive sectors.
Taking over the mantel, Frankland will now report directly to managing director Paul Maynard and take responsibility for co-ordinating all sales actively supported by the five area sales managers and the application team of seven engineers under Nigel McLean.
Previously Frankland was responsible for the North of England and Ireland where his mill/turning, turn-key engineering and multi-axis machining experience has won important contracts for StarragHeckert and provided high levels of customer support.
Says Maynard of Cook: "He has provided the whole company with a high degree of experience across a diverse range of technologies and built-up excellent relationships with both our principals and customers which will be further developed by Julian Frankland." Cook joined StarragHeckert, then TraubHeckert, in 1989 following a career that spanned an apprenticeship with Alfred Herbert and led to senior sales positions with the B.
Elliot Group and Matrix Churchill.
Says Brian: "When I reflect, it is amazing how development has progressed in the last five to 10 years to focus the combination of multiple operations into single cycles instead of individual machining operations.
The boundaries between different technologies have just become a blur today!".
