Checkweigher enables data archiving with
USB stick

Checkweigher is configured to save all records in its internal memory, so users need no longer have any concerns about data security or integrity.

Until now, there have only been two possibilities for recording the process data of dynamic checkweighers One is generating a hard copy printed out on a strip printer, which means the data is available only once

If the printout is lost, so is the data.

Handling printouts in a production environment also means hard work when it comes to archiving the data.

The second - and better and more reliable alternative to printouts - is to integrate checkweighers into an Ethernet environment.

Administration, monitoring, evaluation and archiving of data is done in this network on a server PC and connected PC client devices.

With the USBPrint option, process technology specialist Sartorius is now offering a third, equally reliable method of collecting data quickly and conveniently without a network link.

The USBPrint stick offers exactly the right solution to those manufacturers who do not want or cannot afford to install a network, but wish to save data effortlessly while on the move.

The Sartorius USBPrint option uses a commercially available USB stick to enable fast, easy and paperless transmission of data records.

The Sartorius EWK 3000 checkweigher is configured to save all records in its internal memory.

For data transfer, a USB stick is simply inserted into the port, which is easily accessible on the front of the checkweigher.

The USB port is protected by an IP65-rated cap and is thus ideal for use in rugged industrial environments.

Once the USB stick is plugged in, the archiving function of the checkweigher is automatically activated.

All relevant data is saved in the advanced Internet-based XML format on the Sartorius USB stick.

Afterwards, the data can be opened on any PC using commercially available Web browsers, such as Internet Explorer, archived or e-mailed.

Microsoft EXCEL 2003 offers an import function for XML documents, which allows the recorded data to be conveniently formatted, evaluated, saved, totalled and displayed as graphics, or converted into other popular formats.

With the USBPrint option, users need no longer have any concerns about data security or integrity.

For one, the archiving function of the checkweigher can be locked by password to prevent any tampering with the data.

Additionally the archiving function will not delete the source data until data transmission has been successfully completed.

A checksum with an encrypted algorithm reveals any manipulated XML documents. Request a free brochure from Sartorius UK ...
