Award for robotic industry achievement

The Engelberger Robotics Award was presented to four leaders in the robotic field at the 37th International Symposium on Robotics, May 16th, during Automatica in Munich, Germany.

The robotic industry's 'ultimate honour', the Engelberger Robotics Award, was presented to four leaders in the robotic field at the 37th International Symposium on Robotics, May 16th, during Automatica in Munich, Germany.

Honoring significant achievements in the areas of leadership, application, education, and technology development, the awards are named after the ''father of robotics'', Joseph F Engelberger.

Jean-Paul Boillot received the Technology Development award from the Robotics Industries Association.

Jean-Paul Boillot, P Eng Chairman and CEO, Servo Robot Group received the Engelberger Award in Munich, Germany on May 16.

Mr Boillot is the 4th Canadian winner of this prestigious international award created in 1977.

Having founded Servo-Robot in 1983, Jean-Paul Boillot leads a company with subsidiaries worldwide.

He holds several patents in the fields of laser sensors and robotics.

Mr Boillot has contributed to the evolution of intelligent welding and robotic control technology through the development of laser vision cameras, sensors, process control modules and other related products used by firms around the world.

This increases product quality and value, thus improving the user's global competitiveness and profitability.

This capability has opened up new applications for robots and increased the number of successful robotic installations.
