A groundbreaking coding, marking and printing technique uses very low power laser light for the high speed printing of images.
Images produced in coatings at high speeds
By combining substrate conversion and laser energy, a chemistry can be added to inks, coatings and plastics allowing images to be printed at high speeds using low power laser light.
The new brochure examines some of the current and potential applications for Sherwood's groundbreaking colour change DataLase chemistry.
By applying DataLase to a substrate, images can be printed at high speeds using a very low power CO2 laser light, making it suitable for a variety of applications.
Recent developments mean that DataLase can also be successfully applied to transparent and edible products.
Still in its infancy, colour change science offers incredible potential for future commercial exploitation in areas such as anti-counterfeiting, virtual labelling (eradicating the need for adhesive labels), digital printing, product tracking, environmental control and national security.
Sherwood's brochure reflects the company's ongoing commitment to providing up-to-date information to its customers.
Earlier this year, Sherwood announced its new Applications Laboratory which allows potential licensees, strategic partners and customers to test the effects of using DataLase with a variety of lasers.
The newly designed brochure provides an informative overview of Sherwood's colour change technology, whilst emphasising the importance of colour through its bold design.
Andrew Jackson, Applications Marketing Manager of Sherwood Technology comments, "Sherwood's vision from the outset was to supply its customers with a non contact, full colour digital printing system.
In the last few years there have been several exciting developments which have brought us closer to achieving this.
Reaching our goal promises to be an exciting journey and the updated brochure illustrates how our existing and potential customers can join us in this adventure.".
