Datalase (formerly Sherwood Technology), originator of the award winning Datalase process, has opened its new North American Headquarters under the name of Datalase Inc.

Datalase (formerly Sherwood Technology), originator of the award winning Datalase process, has opened its new North American Headquarters under the name of Datalase Inc.

The facility is in Atlanta's Technology Park, which houses the area's high tech community and is just 30 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International.

The new headquarters will function as a sales office, manufacturing, technical support and distribution and warehousing facility supporting all new and existing North American customers and license partners, said the company.

The facility will also house a high-tech applications laboratory to demonstrate the range of possibilities for laser marking, enabling current and potential licensees and users to test the final results of using Datalase's colour change technologies.

Datalase has appointed Christine Mest as sales and marketing coordinator for its new USA headquarters.

In her new position, Mest will be supporting the North American sales operations for the Datalase Packmark coding and marking system, as well as the launch of the Datalase Casemark label replacement system.

She will also be the primary customer relations contact.

Mest has had 10 years' of business development and marketing experience.

Prior to Datalase, she held various business development, sales support and marketing positions with NTS, RETX and Mirant.

She holds a BS in marketing from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama (USA).

Kevin Murray, vice president and general manager of Datalase Inc, commented: "The opening of our new, fully equipped headquarters demonstrates our express commitment to our US-based license partners and users.

This significant investment needs to be further supported by competent new staff and we believe that Christine will play a vital role towards the successful growth of the company in the US market.
