Machine grinds round and flat tooling
Tool and cutter grinder is able to grind round and flat tooling and is equipped with a highly versatile loader, which also accepts both round and flat components.
The latest Norma tool and cutter grinding machine, just delivered to Schneeberger UK's head offices in Measham (Derbyshire), will be the focus of a series of Open Houses which the company is hosting throughout the early part of 2007 General manager Chris Harford said: "We feel that the production advantages of the Norma are of such significance that it is worth opening the showroom for a series of 'open days' so customers have the chance to see the machine in action

The 'all muscle' Norma is a universal tool and cutter grinder, able to grind both round and flat tooling and is equipped with a highly versatile loader which also accepts both round and flat components.
Designed for production versatility and long runs which convert into accurate, repeatable and highly profitable production, it has the further advantage of a very small footprint combined with an extremely rigid and robust construction - at over five tonnes the machine is the heaviest such machine on the market giving exceptional rigidity and long life.
Options available include the grinding of diameters up to 40mm, cylindrical grinding, glass scales for high accuracy work, full range of software for standard tools and drills, inserts, machine knives, broaches and gun drills.
The Norma is very competitively priced.
A rigid machine, the Norma has been designed to deliver high precision consistently.
It has a heavy duty, 10HP (7.5kW) motor with an HSK50 spindle.
Control is by the Fanuc 160 iB.
Digitally regulated axes provide high speed traversing with smooth continuous interpolation of five axes.
X-axis is 380mm with a resolution of 1 micron, Y is 280mm with a resolution of 1 micron, Z is 280mm with a resolution of 1 micron.
The A-axis has free rotation with a resolution of 0.0001deg; C has 340 deg with a resolution of 0.0001 deg.
The grinding head has a double ended spindle for up to six grinding wheels, of diameter up to 250mm, with 1000-9000 rev/min.
The Open Houses will run from 10am until 5.30pm, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday throughout January and February, 2007.
