Supply chain solutions supplier SSI has recently signed up its first FM customers, Poole-based engineering companies Hamworthy Heating and Hamworthy Combustion and Bellis and Morcom.
Supply chain solutions supplier SSI is building on the already impressive growth of its managed services business by developing a new facilities management (FM) capability - and has recently signed up its first FM customers, Poole-based engineering companies Hamworthy Heating and Hamworthy Combustion and Gloucester-based Bellis and Morcom The agreement is a two-year, GBP200,000 deal, to use SSI's FM services to manage its systems, including ERP with desktop integration and local and wide area networking

The deal sees a number Hamworthy's internal IT staff become SSI employees, though the company will retain ownership of its IT hardware and software licenses.
SSI's managed services business - which has grown more than 25 per cent in each of the last three years - provides IT support to many of the firm's ERP clients, including Corus Group's Brinsworth Strip Mills, distiller GandJ Greenall, carbon brush manufacturer Morganite and savoury food producer Ashworths.
The company is also preparing to go live with a fully-hosted ASP-based ERP solution for dried fruits processor Sundora Foods.
MD Trevor Lewis says: "The growth of our managed services division has been one of SSI's greatest recent successes.
SSI is unusual among ERP system suppliers in being able to provide FM for clients - and most of our customers do use our managed services facilities - and we look forward to providing the Hamworthy companies with the best possible IT services.".
