Although the manufacturing IT market remains tight, some companies are continuing to win business from both new and existing customers.

Although the manufacturing IT market remains tight, some companies are continuing to win business from both new and existing customers.

Basingstoke-based SSI is one such company, having recently signed a deal with the Kidderminster-based Rocket Motors Division of BAE Systems RO Defence.

The Rocket Motors Division, whose products are used in defence applications, is implementing a 55-user TROPOS solution to replace a long-standing mainframe-based system.

SSI is implementing a new part of its solution, project management, for the company.

Software from SSI's financial partner CODA is also included in the deal.

SSI MD Trevor Lewis says that the powerful business intelligence and reporting tools available in TROPOS, as well as the company's track record over 20-plus years, were the crucial factors in securing the deal.

The project will be delivered in conjunction with Rocket Motors Division's outsourcing partner CSC.
