The service available includes a wide range of chemical and physical tests to measure product performance and legal compliance.

This supports the increasing trend towards trans-seasonal collections and the demand to get product onto the retailers' sales floors as quickly as possible.

A staff of 36 at the modern, well equipped STR Laboratory in Istanbul is on hand to provide a full quality management service that includes testing, inspection and auditing across a wide range of consumer products including leather goods, toys and premiums as well as textiles and garments.

Ian Saunderson, STR's Director of European Operations, commented, "Standard turnaround time in the industry is three or four days and few labs can improve upon that, even for a premium price, whereas our lab in Istanbul now guarantees a 48 hour turnaround as standard.

This means that many international retailers refer all their suppliers to STR in the knowledge that this will ensure products get into the stores within the minimum possible time.".
