Film Feed Efficiency For Wrappers And Tray Systems
Standard-Knapp has introduced a new film feed module for its Continuum line of film wrappers and tray-shrink systems.
Claimed to handle the largest diameter range in the industry, the Continuum is suitable for loose containers and multipacks in a variety of materials, including glass, PET, HDPE, metal and fibre cans, Hicone, shrink bundles and paperboard overwrap.
Those products can be packed in to corrugated and chipboard trays for added flexibility.
Standard-Knapp said that customers can choose between a free-standing or integrated shrink wrapper, as well as an integrated tray stacker option.
Operating at claimed speeds of up to 100 trays per minute (tpm), Standard-Knapp's system is said to provide a smooth transition during the product and tray merge.
Additionally, the Continuum offers a quick changeover system with minimal change parts that require no tools.
The system also features touch screen controls and a push-button grouper change-over to increase ease-of-use.
Servo-driven for increased precision and repeatability, Standard-Knapp added that the Continuum provides zero-gap in-feed technology for balanced, jam-resistant packing lanes.
Zero-Gap is said to incorporate precise geometry and sensors to ensure a continuous container supply to the downstream lanes and grouping section.
