"When I think about our complex value chain, I'm impressed by how smoothly and easily the project is running".
Lantmannen Maskin reports sales of about SEK 3.5 billion.
It employs about 900 persons, and its 160 retailers that manage more than 250,000 items in their total offering.
Consequently, Lantmannen Maskin's logistics process can get very complex.
Enhancing service levels has been a big challenge for the company, ie, being able to provide products that are in demand - without increasing inventory levels.
To meet the challenge, the company needed a partner with cutting-edge expertise in the supply chain management area.
Lantmannen Maskin chose Investor-owned Syncron.
Using Syncron's system, Lantmannen Maskin gets real-time proposals that indicate which products must be ordered, when they should be ordered, and where they should be warehoused for optimal management and processing.
In addition information transparency has increased dramatically and system users now know exactly which products are in storage.
"Now employees can focus on serving customers - rather than on ordering items from our suppliers," says Gustafsson.
Thanks to Syncron's planning, forecasting and replenishment solution, Lantmannen Maskin sees impressive results and has a complete overview of its entire logistics chain.
"It didn't take more than a month before we saw clear results from implementing the system," says Claes Hersner, project manager at Lantmannen Maskin.
"The service level in our central warehouse increased from 88% to 96%, which by far exceeds our expectations".
"At the same time, we doubled the speed of warehouse turnover".
"These positive results improved our bottom line performance".
