Retrofit package can significantly extending Heald ID grinding machines' productive lives by as much as 20 to 30 years as well as improving performance and accuracy.

Grinding machine manufacturer Service Network (Worcester, MA) announces the availability of its newest development, the "Hi-Rez System".

For the thousands of Heald CF (Controlled Force) internal grinders now in use, the new system significantly extends machines' productive lives by as much as 20 to 30 years.

"Hi-Rez" enables CF grinders to achieve 21st century performance through dramatic improvements in accuracy, faster production cycles, considerable reduction in machine changeover times, operator-friendly controls plus simplified maintenance.

Also, in many cases, the need for expensive electronic gaging is eliminated.

The "Hi-Rez System" package consists of a servo and ballscrew driven cross-slide (exchange basis) along with a completely new SNI customized internal grinding electronic control package which, together, deliver cross-slide resolution of.000010in.

This package eliminates the need for many high maintenance OEM components such as the compensating mechanism, first size larger/smaller unit, wheelwear switches, stepping motor drive, and the electronic cross-slide control unit.

The "Hi-Rez System" is delivered for a small fraction of the cost of machine rebuilding and is quickly installed in customer plants by their own maintenance personnel, or with SNI's assistance.
