Detector Overcomes Problems With Onions
Onions are reported to be one of the most difficult products to inspect for metal contamination.
Onions are reported to be one of the most difficult products to inspect for metal contamination That is why processor Lingarden has installed a detector capable of detecting the tiniest pieces of metal even in highly conductive foods
The company's Veridan division, which processes of onions for the catering sector, chose a Signature detector from Safeline because of its operating frequency.
Peeled whole onions, diced and sliced and pureed are all inspected after processing and just prior to packing.
The Signature is claimed to have excellent sensitivity levels to ferrous metal, non-ferrous and, the most difficult to detect, stainless steel.
