The Sensors for Water Interest Group SWIG is set to continue its successful one-day Workshops.

The Sensors for Water Interest Group SWIG is set to continue its successful one-day Workshops SWIG Secretary, Stuart Newstead, says that he is: "Delighted with the success that SWIG is having with a growing membership and rising attendance at Workshops"

Both the membership and Workshop attendance are drawn from instrument manufacturers, industrial process industries, water companies, their contractors and consultants, academia and government agencies.

The 2007 programme covers diverse topics related to the development and use of instrumentation in the water and industrial process industries, and environmental protection.

SWIG's 2007 programme includes workshops on: SCADA systems for future management of assets 24 January, Grafham, Nr.

Huntingdon Potable water metering, water loss and distribution systems Sewage treatment plants, optimisation of process and control 7 and 8 March, RDS, Dublin, ROI Sludge processing and bio-solids recycling 20 March, Chorley, Lancashire .

Management of odour from sewage treatment works 18 April, with the Scottish Odour Steering Group (SOSG), Edinburgh Monitoring of waste water discharges under PPC 16 May, Daresbury, Cheshire.

Developments in flow sensor technologies 7 June, National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire Compliance monitoring for WRA'91 consents 14 July, Swindon UK sensor research 19 September, with Optocem.Net, Cardiff (tbc).
