Polymer headed rivets give tight grip
When compared with blind rivets, polymer headed rivets can join materials of varying thickness and have moulded, self-masking, self-coloured heads and ensure a tight joint in oversize holes.
Specialist fastener manufacturer SEAC has extended its novel range of Polytop polymer-headed rivets with a new series of Multigrip rivets with moulded, self-masking, self-coloured heads Multigrip rivets can clamp materials over a wider range of thicknesses than standard blind rivets

Socket screws fix and finish in one step
A new series of socket-drive fasteners designed to fix and finish in one step can be used in visible positions where ordinary screws or bolts would need painting or capping.
Self-masking head rivet range expanded
A 4mm diameter aluminium rivet with a moulded, self-coloured head has been added to range of polymer-headed rivets with self-masking heads.
These fasteners expand radially, which ensures a tight joint even with oversize or irregular holes.
Usually, Multigrip rivets will replace the need to stock three different size rivets.
Polytop fasteners blend unobtrusively with base materials, so they can be used in visible positions where ordinary fasteners would be unacceptable without extra finishing.
They are a cost-effective alternative to painted or capped rivets and can usually offer significant cost savings over hidden fastening systems.
Because they fix and finish in a single step, they can cutp roduction time and labour costs.
The fastener is based on a Multigrip 3/16th (4.8mm) diameter aluminium rivet.
A wide range of colours can be specified and lengths from 10.5 to 24.5mm.
Standard manual or automated rivet setting tools can be used and the raw material grip range is from 1.5 to 20.0mm.
These rivets are not simply plastic-coated.
The heads are encapsulated by a high-precision polymer profile injection moulded onto them.
The material used is Acetal which is resistant to most chemicals including petrol and alkalis.
In some applications, the Polytop Multigrip will provide a better seal against dust, gasses, and liquids than a standard rivet.
