Abrasive belt tool post grinder converts a lathe for grinding, finishing and polishing of rolls in most materials, including stainless steels and alloy steels.

Abrasive belts have long been the recommended tools for grinding, finishing and polishing of most materials, particularly stainless steels and alloy steels Surtech have now introduced their range of Tool Post Abrasive Belt Grinders to the UK market

All Tool Post Grinders consist of a fully guarded abrasive belt head with tracking and tensioning controls, a built in ammeter for contact pressure control and a built in tenon that fits into the tool post.

The Tool Post Grinders can be used with coarse abrasive belts for high stock removal rates, with superfinishing belts for finishes between 8 CLA and 6 CLA and with polishing belts for finishes between 4 CLA and 6 CLA.

Major manufacturers of rolls for the paper and textile industry as well as hard chrome platers and manufacturers of hydraulic pistons have been using the Surtech tool post grinder for many years.

There are two versions.

One with fixed head for precision grinding, one with floating head for grinding of cylindrical parts that are slightly out of round.

Each version is available with drive motors from 3HP to 15HP and abrasive belt widths from 50mm to 100mm.

All models can be used for grinding on the contact wheels for stock removal or for grinding on the slack of belt for finishing and polishing.

The design of all Surtech Abrasive Belt Tool Post Grinders is unique and patented, with a right angle geared motor which reduces total width of the unit and increases potential grinding lengths.
