Semi automated fettling machines are the answer for foundries who are concerned about vibration white finger disease but do not know how to combat it.

Surtech's semi automated fettling machines are the answer for foundries who are concerned about vibration white finger disease but do not know how to combat it Surtech offer a number of abrasive belt and grinding wheel machines with support tables and simple jigs which considerably reduce the risk of white finger disease and which conform to the latest Health and Safety recommendations

With these machines the operator manipulates the castings but does not hold them at the same time.

Abrasive Belt machines produce less vibration because belts run on rubber contact wheels which cushion hands from vibration.

Upgraded versions of the same machines have power assisted jigs which keep the operators hands off the part during the fettling operation.

With these semi automatic machines either abrasive belts or grinding wheels can be chosen as the fettling tool.

Surtech's fettling machines are available single or double ended and with motors from 5HP to 25HP.

At the top of the range are Rapid Grinding Machines with abrasive belt heads up to 50HP, with either Rise and Fall or Reciprocating tables and with optional incremental feed and programmable operations.

Rapid Grinding Machines grind feeders after cutting at a faster rate than any other machine.

They are particularly popular for alloys used for aerospace castings.
