Centreless finishing machine offers versatility
Offering a high degree of versatility with different feed wheel angle settings, centreless finishing machine is designed for a cylindrical parts including tubes, pipes, pins and shafts.
Abrasive machine automatically radiuses corners
Abrasive belt machine will automatically radius corners corners on metal enclosures in seconds, as the abrasive belt head will pivot around the corner automatically.
PBZ 100 machines consist of a planetary disc drive with two abrasive belt heads.
Both abrasive belts rotate around the tube simultaneously whilst the tube is fed through.
The tube does not rotate.
Coarse abrasive belts can be used for grinding and surface fault removal, fine abrasive belts for finishing prior to plating, for final finishing or for finishing prior to polishing.
Abrasive impregnated nylon belts blend and satin finish the surface.
Superfinishing belts apply a commercial mirror polish.
There is no restriction on the length of tubes.
4 m long handrails have been polished successfully and in a fraction of the time it would take to polish them manually.
PBZ 100 machines are also suitable for finishing hollow sections, ie roof rails as used in the car industry.
There are four machines in the PBZ range, suitable for diameters from 10mm to 110mm.
Where possible Surtech recommend machines with wet operation as this greatly increases the life of the abrasive belt and results in better and more consistent finishes.
All wet machines can also be supplied in dry versions.
All machines are available with manual or automatic feed.
For manual operation a foot pedal control opens the abrasive belts for insertion of the tube.
For automatic operation this is done by a photocell.
The PBZ models can be viewed and tested at Surtech's Abrasive Test Centre in Birmingham.
