Contracts boost EU online manufacturing initiative
Companies in process manufacturing, automotive, piece-part, general assembly, etc., are responding enthusiastically to EU on-line manufacturing initiatives that solve manufacturing problems.
Whether a company is looking for an off-line insight into how its distribution centre operates, a real-time aid to optimise manufacturing capacity or any other variation on the theme of excellence through simulation, funding is available to manufacturers for supporting test case applications - and the range of potential applications is limitless.
Launched last month, Sim-Serv is the first of two European Commission projects which aim to set new benchmarks within manufacturing industry, by identifying and demonstrating advanced technical approaches.
"We want to attract case study candidates so that other members of the manufacturing community can see first-hand just how advanced simulation technology can be used to get the most out of complicated manufacturing systems operating within the new digital world.
Our only prerequisite is that each application should contribute tangibly to improving manufacturing efficiency, joining in our drive toward excellence and world class standards," comments Kaj Juslin, the general manager of Sim-Serv.
