New software utility allows handheld users to add information, drawings, and handwritten notes to Pocket PC's built-in Contacts application.

New software utility allows handheld users to add information, drawings, and handwritten notes to Pocket PC's built-in Contacts application Intuitive database tools for business and personal productivity, include PocketExtra Contacts, the first in a series of low cost, easy-to-use software utilities

These expand the capabilities of the built-in applications on Pocket PC handhelds.

PocketExtra Contacts, part of SYWARE's PocketExtra family of software products, allows users to extend the Contacts application built-into all Pocket PCs.

New fields can be created to store additional information, such as text, numbers, time, and currency.

Colour can be added to highlight important data; information can be grouped for fast access; and simple drawings and handwritten notes can be added to entries in the Contacts list, all for a low $9.99 price.

"For many Pocket PC users, the Contacts application is the main reason they carry a device," said Sy Danberg, President of SYWARE.

"But who said a contacts program had to be a plain vanilla listing of name, address, and phone number? The PocketExtra series was created for people who want to extend the Pocket PC's built-in applications rather than develop a whole new custom database.

With PocketExtra Contacts you can save additional information with your existing Pocket Outlook Contacts list, use colour to draw attention to certain fields, track dates and dollar amounts, even further explain entries with drawings and written notes.

It1s everything you need to really 'manage' your contacts and at under $10, it's a no-brainer!" PocketExtra Contacts allows users to customize the capabilities of the Pocket PC's built-in Contacts application.

New fields of information can be added which contain a variety of data types, including text, floating point numbers, integers, currency, dates, or time.

Even simple drawings and handwritten notes can be added to any contact entry.

This allows a user, for instance, to create a new contact list for their neighborhood association.

The new list can include all the basic contact data for the people in the association, plus highlight information about special skills, meeting dates, and membership dues status.

Drawings of the "neighborhood watch" detail can even be added to relevant records.

Additional PocketExtra Contacts features include the use of colour to highlight important information.

To speed data entry, the software supports dropdown lists, checkboxes, and pop-up numberpads.

For faster access to data once it1s stored, users can create custom headings and group information accordingly.

With such a wide array of data types, PocketExtra Contacts can be used to track dollar amounts paid or owed, to monitor important dates, and to track time down to the minute.

PocketExtra Contacts runs on any Pocket PC handheld and is available from the SYWARE online store (www.syware.com) for $9.99.
