Cermet grade insert for general milling applications combines excellent toughness with high wear resistance enabling it to cut a wide range of materials The UK tooling specialist TaeguTec UK, has recently launched the new CT5000 Cermet grade insert for general milling applications
The new grade combines excellent toughness with high wear resistance enabling it to cut a wide range of materials from aluminium, alloy steel, carbon steel, stainless steel to ductile cast iron.
CT5000's high thermal conductivity and fine-homogeneous microstructure provide superior cutting edge strength and longer tool life for medium to finish milling compared to conventional Cermet grades.
The new grade can comfortably cut carbon steel and hardened steels at 348m/min and 220m/min respectively with dramatically increased tool life.
