Lower price ceramic inserts are pressed to size
What is believed to be a ground-breaking new product - 'As Pressed' ready-sized ceramic inserts - will be launched at MACH 2002. The inserts are some 20% lower in cost and life increased by 30%.
Pressed ceramic inserts up cutting performance
To be launched at MACH 2002 is a product that will revolutionise the metal cutting industry's use of ceramic inserts for turning and grooving, dramati- cally improving tool-life and cutting speeds.
All the products were very well received by visitors to the show.
TaeguTec UK general manager Ronnie O'Byrne comments: "TaeguTec has launched a lot of innovative products in 2005 and visitors to the stand were extremely impressed with what they saw".
"High profile events like EMO provide TaeguTec with the ideal platform to demonstrate the exceptional innovations that are continually being developed." * Turning products - operating on a stand with fellow IMC Group member Ingersoll, the exhibition gave TaeguTec the opportunity to exhibit its impressive range of new turning products.

Dense carbides mill cast iron at 45,000 rev/min
Specifically designed for mould and die toolmakers and high speed machining applications, the use of extra dense, sub-micron grade carbides in end mills enable cast iron milling at 45,000 rev/min.
Ceramic inserts turn tough materials faster
Ceramic turning inserts allows high nickel content alloys, such as Inconel 718 and Waspaloy, to be turned at speeds of up to 350m/min - six times faster than standard ceramic tooling.
Exceptionally strong holder allows bigger feeds
Providing exceptionally strong clamping force, a turning toolholder is ideal for high feed machining enabling feeds to be increased greatly when conducting continuous or interrupted cutting.
This included the launch of the internal T-Type ISO turning holders that will compliment the already established external T-Type holder system.
This exceptional range provides increased insert security and clamping plus improved tool life and reliability.
The T-Type holders have performance advantages that have been well proven in the marketplace.
A number of new grades and insert geometries were launched including the 'VF' Chip breaker range of inserts.
The 'VF' (Vibration Free) helps eliminate insert breakage and poor surface finish that can be caused by vibration when machining at high feed rates and high cutting depths on small diameter parts.
This development was accompanied by the new 'FA' Chipbreaker series.
This range of double and single sided chip breaker inserts has a 0.4mm nose radius for exceptional chip control, making them ideal for semi to super finishing applications.
To accompany this impressive range was the hard turning product line.
This selection of high specification inserts includes the AS20 for machining exotic alloys, the popular CBN range including the TB650 inserts, as well as Dimple Ceramics and the CH series of inserts that also utilise T-Type holder design.
A particular highlight among the turning related product lines was the new modular T-Clamp system.
These new modular adaptors cover a wide range of grooving, groove turn, face turn and part off applications.
In addition to the modular system TaeguTec demonstrated the new TDXU multifunction insert that can be used on a multitude of grooving and turning applications.
These advancements along with a number of additional tools and inserts that extend the range show the productivity benefits that the T-Clamp system has brought to the cutting tool market.
* Milling products - TaeguTec had a number of exceptional new milling products receiving their European debut at EMO.
This included the new ChaseFeed range of cutters for the mould and die industry.
This ultra high feed universal face milling system has been designed to incorporate a large radius cutting edge with unique insert geometry to reduce cycle times and machining costs.
Alongside the Chase Feed was the new Chase Mini, Mini Z-Mill and ceramic milling range.
To compliment this impressive array of products TaeguTec exhibited a full product line of solid carbide End-Mills that consist of a new design that has improved the current range.
* Drilling products - also on show was the extremely successful T-Drill line.
The popularity of the range has now seen TaeguTec launch a new smaller diameter T-Drill with diameters ranging from 12-50mm.
Alongside this was the T-Cap multi function system that not only drills but is capable of turning, boring and facing operations with one tool.
To complete the range of drilling products, TaeguTec demonstrated the new design of its full line of solid carbide drills.
