Pressed ceramic inserts up cutting performance
To be launched at MACH 2002 is a product that will revolutionise the metal cutting industry's use of ceramic inserts for turning and grooving, dramati- cally improving tool-life and cutting speeds.
The CTMS system has optimised the use of logistics, information technology and engineering experts that work alongside all members of the IMC group to provide a complete package.
This new philosophy is based upon modularity and flexibility to provide customers with the highest standard of products, tooling and overall solutions individually tailored to the customers needs.
The CTMS provides a range of Automatic Tool Dispensers (ATDs) to suit the majority of manufacturing environments.
The dispensers are all controlled via management software that automates purchasing, inventory control and the issuing of tools.
Consumption is tracked and controlled with a reporting package that makes tools available wherever they are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The CTMS follows the tool usage and cost by machine, cell, job, operation, operator and department.
This visible control will significantly drive down costs and enhance productivity improvements by giving management access to 'real time' information.
The established system is in use at over 1000 global locations.
It can be interfaced with the majority of ERP systems whist controlling all aspects of the supply chain from warehousing and procurement to tool re-servicing.
The CTMS is currently in operation at a number of well known companies worldwide, all of which have reaped significant benefits with continuous improvement and cost down targets all being exceeded.
